![]() | Pearle found a wonderful home with an older Bouvier brother! She now lives in a beautiful home on a lake - something she appreciates in hot weather. Her new family researched how to deal with her glaucoma before even meeting her - they knew they would fall in love and wanted to be certain they could deal with this problem *before* they met her. Very smart of them! |
On Saturday, September 23, 2000 we received 5 adults (2 nine year olds, 3 two year olds) and 6 one month old pups into rescue. Most of the dogs were in very bad condition - matted, underfed, dirty. Click here to see the "before" pictures, then scroll down to see the after pictures. All were dark - black or gray, with docked tails.
All the dogs cleaned up very nicely, and were quite cute. All seem starved for affection. The youngest ones lacked socialization, but seem very willing to please. All but one have been placed - including all the puppies (which of course were in high demand!). The oldest two took the longest to place. Sheena was finally placed on December 8th. Wizard is still looking for his forever home.........
Wizard - Oldest male from our "gang of eleven". Cropped ears. Recently clipped short, he is the best groomed of the lot. About 7 to 9 years old. Nice boy. Previous reports indicate before the neglect happened he also had extensive Agility, show and obedience training.
Wizard was placed in a wonderful home that includes a "sister" rescue Bouvier, a pair of six year old twins and a loving Mom & Dad. His foster home misses him, but was thrilled to find such a perfect family for him!
Sheena - Reported to be 7 to 9 years old, she definitely acts younger! Bounces and chases balls & other thrown toys. Very sweet girl. Favorite things include walks, car rides and getting petted. Reported to have had extensive Agility, show and obedience training.
UPDATE: Sheena went to a great home in Utah where she has a family and children all her own!
Mack - Mack is a very sweet boy who was left by his owners at a vet's office in the Portland area. He had been diagnosed with glaucoma, and the owners did not feel they could care for him, so had asked the vet to put him to sleep. Aside from the financial issues they were concerned that being one-eyed would make him harder to live with. The vet thought he was too nice and too young to be put down and contacted rescue. He is a small two year old male.
It was not possible to save his eye, so the eye was remove. He was neutered at the same time. He has healed well both the surgeries.
Mack found a good home in Eastern Washington.
Taz - Taz is a six year old male. He is very active. Obsesses on chasing cars along the fence, is very active, and needs training & socialization! He has been passed through several homes already, so needs someone willing & able to spend time with him. Seems to get along with other dogs fine. Cats are a question mark. Has been around children. Taz found a great home.
5-6 YO Male - Vincent is not exactly a rescue. His current family wishes to place him in a perfect home. They are a professional couple who do not feel they have enough time for him, and expect to need to travel extensively in the near future. He is well behaved and well cared for. He is neutered. Vincents owners decided they could not live with out him, and will be keeping him.
5-6YO Female. (11/03/1999) Stray picked up by King County Animal Control. Previous two owners have refused to pick up dog. "Olive" is a spayed female. 11/19/99 - Olive has been adopted by a wonderful home.
4 YO Male. (8/17/99) Owner surrender. Natural Ears & Tail. Has been loose outdoors all of his life. Has chased & killed ducks, so Mom says he has to go. UPDATE - 11/03/99 - Current status on this dog is unknown. Repeat attempts to contact owner have failed. We will hope for the best.
